| After all the New Year's excitement we had to return to real life. Melissa returned to school where she was enjoying social science. She enrolled in a computer class and was struggling to come up with a royalty free idea for a website.
Around this time we joined our pals in attending a supper club called PJ's every Wednesday. The bar was pretty snazzy and so was the Karaoke DJ Mr. Stevie Van Dee. Melissa decided to create a website devoted to her and her friends' Karaoke alter egos. The LaRue Sister's website can by clicking here. It's a complicated URL, Melissa and Emmaly are saving up for an easier one. While Brett occasionally sang he was really passionate about drawing and getting up at 4:30 for basketball. |

Melissa was definitely bit by the graphic design bug. She designed another website which can be accessed here. It's URL is much better because she shelled out some dough for it. She is trying to get people to contiribute to this webzine, however most of the work on the site is Melissa's or Emmaly's, they just use more of their alternate identities - Melvia Nelsor and Liza Disney. In the summer of 2001 we joined Melissa's folks and brother and sister on a trip to Scandinavia and Amsterdam. We were gone for three weeks and had a whole lot of fun. We took many pictures few of which have actually ended up on this website.

| Brett continues to have fun studying music reference books, hoping to eventually find the best CD in the whole wide world. When not consumed with his tedious cross referencing system he enjoys attending the movies.
We and our friends the LaRue Sister's gang still go to PJ's every single Wednesday. Although we sing with a new DJ: Rockin' Ron.
And of course we are in the process of planning a wedding and designing this website. We are trying to enter into marriage equipped with a realistic sense of what we want from our relationship and our ceremony. It is very difficult to stay concious of what we really want when we are bombarded with many commercial and mainstream ideas of what we should be doing. We are just trying to remember why we want to have a ceremony at all. We just want to celebrate the fact that we actually found someone as messed up and goofy and silly as the other one is. |
